Salary Survey

In May 2009, CMA Ontario encouraged Ontario-based CMAs and candidates to participate in a survey of compensation earned in 2008. The survey had previously been conducted on 2006 compensation. Top-line survey results are as follows

Among CMAs responding, the average total cash earned in 2008 was $113,600 and the median was $98,000.

This represents a 2.1% increase since the 2006 survey. Twenty-two per cent of CMAs responding were very satisfied and 66% were satisfied with their overall level of compensation.

Among Strategic Leadership Program (SLP) candidates responding, the average total cash earned in 2008 was $64,400 and the median was $58,000. Ten per cent of SLP candidates responding were very satisfied and 59% were satisfied with their overall level of compensation.
