
University graduates who have completed the required topics with a minimum grade of 60% in each undergraduate course are eligible to write the examination. Detailed Examination requirements may be viewed by clicking here. The Entrance Examination is a comprehensive test of accounting knowledge gained through university studies. The testing focuses on the topic areas covered in the Entrance Examination as follows: Management Accounting, Corporate Finance, Financial Accounting and Taxation. A smaller portion of the examination (approximately 15%) will be devoted to the remaining CMA competencies. Please refer to the CMA Competency Map Entrance Requirements for a full listing of required topics. The Entrance Examination is held twice each year, in mid-June and mid-October. The exam is four hours in duration and is comprised of 100-120 multiple choice questions. The pass mark of the examination is 60%, and must be successfully completed to be eligible to enter the Strategic Leadership Program. This valuable program provides students with the necessary tools required to be successful on the CMA Entrance Examination. The program covers the major CMA competency map topics, as well as multiple choice exam writing strategies. You will also be able to test your exam writing skills on two sample exams. Starting in June 2010, the Entrance Exam will test students on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). CMA Ontario has developed an IFRS Bridging Manual to help students prepare for this topic. The Bridging Manual is available here.
