Welcome to a winning academic opportunity that enables you to become a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) while earning a Master of Business Administration at Brock University through the Faculty of Business.

This dual accomplishment was made possible in May, 2007. The courses required to become a CMA are included in the Master of Business Administration syllabus and meet the CMA designation’s high accreditation standards. (See “Requirements” below.)

It is now possible to pursue the CMA designation while earning a full-time or part-time MBA degree – eliminating the need for you to do the two year CMA Strategic Leadership Program’s six week-end sessions.

How Do You Benefit?

Marketability for senior level positions dramatically increases with a professional accounting designation, a fact confirmed through a survey of job placement ads for accounting and senior management positions placed in several Ontario newspapers. Our findings confirmed that 85% of them sought candidates with a professional accounting designation.

CMAs are active in virtually every aspect of business operations. As leaders in management accounting, our expertise is grounded in three pillars of foundational knowledge: accounting, management and strategy. Our capacity to independently focus on each element or, alternatively, to amalgamate information from all three, is becoming increasingly relevant to today’s business environment. Initial classroom expertise is reinforced through practical application in real world situations. Newly-certified CMAs hit the ground running and quickly find employment opportunities in any number of fields.
